Legal
Cookie policy.
Three categories, one of which you cannot turn off because the site would stop working. The other two are entirely your call.
The short version
Nothing that measures you or advertises to you loads until you say yes. That is not a courtesy, it is what UK GDPR and PECR require, and this site is built to do it properly rather than to appear to.
Strictly necessary
Always on. No consent needed, because without them the site cannot do what you asked.
am_consent_v1stores your cookie choice, so we do not ask again. Slightly circular, but unavoidable.- A theme preference, so the site remembers light or dark.
am_melo_openremembers whether you had the assistant open, for the current session only.- A one-off marker that stops a page refresh counting a purchase twice.
Analytics
Off until you allow it. Google Analytics, which tells us which pages are read, where people give up, and which work gets attention. We use it to improve the site, not to identify you.
Marketing
Off until you allow it. Meta Pixel, Google Ads and Microsoft Clarity. These tell us which campaign or article brought you here and whether it led anywhere, and Clarity shows us anonymised recordings of where the site frustrates people. Sensitive fields are masked.
We also store, in your browser rather than on a server, which source first brought you to the site and which brought you back. It is how we know whether our own work is worth doing.
Changing your mind
Every page has a Cookie preferences link in the footer. Withdrawing consent is exactly as easy as giving it, which is the point. Clearing your browser storage also resets everything.
Google Consent Mode
Where Google tags are used, they run with consent defaulting to denied and only update once you have chosen. Tags therefore behave differently depending on what you allowed, rather than loading regardless and being asked to behave later.
A note on this document. The cookie names above are the real ones used by this site, checked against the code. If a new tool is added, this list needs updating with it.
